concert weekend.....

This weekend was all about music. On Friday night me and my Brother met Spada and Shannon at Merriweather Post Pavillion to satisfy my inner teenage rebel. The bill: Muse and My Chemical Romance. My impression of Muse is they are really talented (especially the lead singer) and are going into my playlist full time. The singer reminded me of Thom Yorke (Radiohead) and they played some songs off their recent release "Black Holes and Revelations." Some favorites are Invincible and Starlight.

Then the concert I had been waiting on for months. My Chemical Romance came out as their alter egos The Black Parade and proceeded to play all the songs of their new album of the same name. Each song was played with energy and they sounded really good. My only gripe is the volume was a little to low.
Then Saturday night I saw a show in Baltimore which I can only categorize at a delight to all senses. Danity Kane, The Pussycat Dolls and Christina Aguilera.....go ahead and make fun but I drank a big pepsi, ate nachos with cheese, salsa and jalapenos and watched really hot chicks belt out about 40 pop tunes while dancing like strippers to an audience of 10,000 14 year old girls and me.

My camera is amazing but I decided to include some pictures of DK, PCD and CA........

spider church

So there is a church in Mt. Vernon. I don't know what denomination, I think it's a catholic church but I'm not sure. I've driven by is a million times and always think about taking it's picture. Saturday afternoon I did just that.

It looks real neat and reminds me of the colors on a tarantula so I have named it spider church. To see it for yourself just drive up Charles towards the Belvedere Hotel and at the George Washington Monument roundabout my venomous hairy spider inspired place of heavenly worship is on the right.

Enjoy.

Disgustapated

So I cannot contain my excitement. I just bought two tickets for the June 8th concert at First Mariner Area. I'm going to see Tool. If you don't know this band they at an American rock band and have one of the most intense stage shows I have ever witnessed. The last time I saw them was 1996 in D.C. with Shawn Ferry and Chris O'Neil. I grew up listening to them in the franks basement and they are unlike any band I have ever heard.

What sets them apart is sheer effort and imagination. Their songs usually don't follow typical popular music rhythms or melodies and are so visceral you experience a roller coaster of emotions while listening to some of their longer tracks (Third Eye or Eulogy).

Tool is a rather heavy, progressive metal band from Los Angeles and are in my top 5 all time.

If you are not familiar with their work try downloading the following: Sober, Hush, Prison Sex, Aenima, H., Eulogy, Swamp Song, Jimmy, Vicarious, The Pot, Third Eye, Schism, Intolerance, Cold and Ugly and Parabola.
By the way, we have floor seats and I'm pretty sure we are going to be knocked around a bunch because the moshing that goes on at a Tool show can get real violent.

when are we gonna see the basement........

So disposable income and a desire to get more exercise coupled with the urge to spend more quality time with my brother....1100.00 later and I bought a brand new Specialized Rockhopper Mountian bike. I also bought a helmet, gloves and a bike rack.

Me and my brother went riding this morning at Savage Mill and worked up quite a sweat on the trails along the river.

If anyone is interested in riding please let me know as this was a lot of money to spend and I'd like to get as much usage as possible out of it.

I would really like to bike the C & O Canal which is 184 miles (give or take) from Cumberland to Georgetown. I know people who have done this and I'm not saying I'm ready at all but it's a good idea.

3 little birds.........

Checked out Jah Works last night at the Stone Cellar in Ellicot City. I have never been a real big fan but last night they rocked the house. Jah Works has a semi-large following and some real die-hard fans. I am now one of them.

-Jah Bless.

All I can say is it is about time. My sincerest congratulations go out to Missy and Jason. I look forward to relentlessly toasting you two over the next year and I have 2 words for Jason. Bachelor Party

.....twilight

So I've been miserably dwelling on a problem for the better part of 3 months now and it's done nothing but make me question whether or not i'm a bad person or more so a bad friend. I'm not gonna go into it unless you catch me sauced and then I will yell about it but let just say I have come to accept it. People are strange creatures. Some are genuinly nice and have other's best interests at heart when making decisions. Some are mean spirited and only out to serve themselves and some are a middle ground of the two. Nice and genuine on the outside but with a selfish underlying agenda. These people are not bad, but lets face facts, a humans basic instinct is survival of the fittest. And if highlander taught me anything there can only be one... So I've been doing some soul searching to see areas where I can better myself. I guess it's me getting older and hopefully more mature in my twilight years.....

So here it is, lets define TS. He is a fairly nice guy, gets a long with others, admittedly one of the funnier people in his circle, and a gossip is every sense of the word. Not that being a gossip is something to be proud of but I have been privy to a lot of information which for better or worse has put me in sticky situations. I know more about most people than I care to admit. Actually some of the things I know would literally destroy people. I wish I could wash all of that from my memory and just see people for who they present to the outside world, but no, I know people's true charachters and let me tell you....that sh*t is scary.

Am I perfect? Hell no, but with me you know exactly what you are getting. I haven't changed at all (again not something to be proud of). I am still the same Tom from Oakland Mills Middle School or Howard or College Park. The only changes are I have a nice TV, better shoes and a much better job. One thing that I don't do it judge people for being human. I am not ritcheous as I am the first to admit my flaws. Sure I judge people, again I am not perfect but people are victims of circumstance and therefore reactionary. Reacting to stimuli is a basic function of living organisms......so there's the rub.

My conclusions: the majority of my friends have a good time around me and vice versa. I am a loyal friend (question that, I dare you) and really am funny. And not HAHA funny, I am "you know black people really are different than white people," funny.

I go out of my way to provide social situations so that my circle has excuses to get together. I'm not asking for a cookie or recognition but honestly if I hear one more time "tell so and so that I said happy birthday" when you were invited to the birthday party but have other plans, I'm gonna burst. I don't want to be the center of attention and I'm not asking for forgiveness for anything I have done or was asked to do but seriously look at yourselves and if you can honestly say you are innocent of the same selfishness that I get labled with than damn I guess this failed experiment called friendship has come to an end.

If not then I'll see you at the beach.

out of place

so about 2 weeks ago on a sunday night, Jessica's boyfriend Jim came through my door and told me about a car parked up the street which was rather out of place.
This was taken in Locust Point which while it is one of the nicer neighborhoods in Baltimore, is not high class by any means.
In 2006 the Lamborghini Gallardo had a sticker price of 175,000.00
interesting...........

thank you easter bunny.......

Easter is one of those holidays I have fond memories of. As a child my father use to wake up early and hide all the eggs me, my brother and sister dyed the night before. Then with woven baskets in hand we would take to the yard in search of the illusive yolk filled treasures......Thinking back on those times always makes me smile. So I was beside myself when my family introduced my nephew to the tradition. Below are some pictures of my nephew in his first easter egg hunt....

Here are some more pictures of my nephew. He is now 23 months old (turns 2 in may) and talking up a storm.

i'm like turtle.......

So I have recently been getting into some serious HBO watching and have developed an additction to two shows both of which premier tomorrow.

My new favorite show is the Sopranos and in true ts fashion I start to like a show after it's been on for 6 seasons and is heading into it's final 9 episodes. Sopranos is the story of Tony Soprano (mob boss) and his life living in jersey running a mafia family and all that that entails. This show is harsh and pretty violent. I think I like this show so much because I can identify with Tony. I feel like my group of friends is kinda like a family and the Sopranos is all about respecting your family. My prediction is that Tony gets wacked in the final episode as a sad commentary on the reality of mafia life. But until that happens they eat pasta every day, own big cars and bigger houses and date hot italian chicks.......not a bad life until you get murdered.
My next favorite show is Entourage and I'm all caught up so I'm ready for the new season and hope it remains as cool as it has been. Just getting back from Los Angeles I miss the glitz and glam of hollywood and all the hot cars, skinny plastic chicks with large dark glasses drinking martinis and really good sushi joints. I feel I am destined for stardom and would certianly bring a couple of my friends out with me. I think Mike would be a good manager. Jason would be a good style coach and there are some openings available based on skill set. I again can identify with this show because I think I'm cooler than I actually am. I feel I am more like Turtle than Johnny Drama although I have been nicknamed (ironically by some very dramatic chicks) Tommy Drama. I dress like turtle (sometimes) and beg chicks to talk to me.
Peace - TS
(Tommy Soprano)
PS: Don't go against the family, it's not good to go against Tommy Soprano........
